40 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #41s Brooks Miller & Garrison Grimes

Brooks Miller is a sophomore linebacker from West Monroe, Louisiana. He should have two years of eligibility remaining past this season, and Baylor’s website has him listed at 6-foot-1, 230 pounds. Miller was Academic All-Big 12 in 2021; he has made the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and will be majoring in health, kinesiology, and leisure studies.
After redshirting the 2020 season, Miller appeared in 10 games in 2021. He had a career-high four tackles and a TFL against Texas Southern and had two solo tackles in the hard-fought victory over Texas Tech later in the season.
As a senior at West Monroe High School, Miller racked up 66 tackles, two TFLs, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. As a junior, he had 56 tackles and seven interceptions on a team that went 14-1 and appeared in the state championship game. He was a three-star recruit and 247’s No. 65 player in Lousiana. Miller committed to Baylor over TCU in the 2020 class.
Garrison Grimes is a redshirt-freshman long snapper from American Fork, Utah. He will have three years of eligibility remaining past this year, and Baylor’s website has him listed as 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. While at BU, Grimes is majoring in health science studies and made the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall of 2021.
At American Fork High School, Grimes helped lead his team to the state semifinals and an 8-4 record in 2020. While serving as the team’s long snapper and starting tight end, Grimes amassed 73 catches for 926 yards in his high school career. He was a two-time All-Region and All-State tight end, as well as being a team captain. He was rated 4.5 stars by Rubio Long Snapping and elected to come to Baylor with his father, Jeff Grimes, who is the offensive coordinator for the Bears.
