Baylor Athletics Announces External Team Additions and Promotions

WACO, Texas – Baylor Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Jovan Overshown announced several recent promotions and senior-level additions to the Baylor Athletics external team on Tuesday.

David Kaye, who has spent the last six seasons as Assistant AD for Communications, has been promoted to a newly created role, Associate AD for External Affairs Operations. In this role, Kaye will be responsible for closing the gap between strategic objectives and purposeful execution by connecting staff, managing special projects and campaigns, liaising with stakeholders and assisting in cultivating external leadership consensus.

Brent Ingram has been selected to take over as Assistant AD for Communications. A nearly 20-year veteran of athletics communications, Ingram joins the Bears after spending the previous four years at UTSA. He previously gained a decade of experience at Kentucky, along with a stop at UT Arlington and a stint with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Ingram will oversee the nine-member Baylor Athletics Communications team and serve as the primary football contact, while Matt Roberts will take over as men’s basketball primary contact.

Hanna Kotlarek recently joined the Baylor Athletics staff as Senior Director of Football Visual Media, where she will oversee strategy and execution for the football creative team. She previously served as Director of Creative Design for the Navy football program, coordinating all creative and digital aspects of the football program, as well as contributing to on-campus recruiting efforts. A former student-athlete, Kotlarek also gained three years of full-time experience at her alma mater, Kent State, as the Golden Flashes’ first football creative.

Joe Gonzales, a nearly 10-year veteran of the Baylor Athletics department, has been promoted to Senior Director of Digital Media after previously serving as Director of Digital Media. In this elevated role, Gonzales will oversee the all-sport creative team which supports more than 30 units in the athletic department with photography, creative video, graphic and motion design. Gonzales serves as the lead designer for men’s basketball and Baylor Athletics.

Chris Humphreys, who joined Baylor Athletics in 2016, has been promoted to Senior Director of BaylorVision. Humphreys will continue leading the BaylorVision team, which is responsible for producing all home game broadcasts for ESPN+, as well as videoboard production for all Baylor Athletics events at McLane Stadium, Ferrell Center, Baylor Ballpark and Getterman Stadium. The BaylorVision team consists of five full-time employees and more than 30 gameday personnel.

Under the direction of Overshown, who is in her sixth season at Baylor, the external leadership team consists of Jake Baskin (Capital Gifts), Erin Bean (Marketing & Fan Engagement), Gina Gonzales (Resource Development), Justin Hoff (Creative Services), Matt Iazzetti (Baylor Bear Sports Properties), David Kaye (Communications) and Courtney Scrivano (Licensing).
