11 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #11 Lorando Johnson
Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson is a sophomore cornerback from Lancaster, Texas. Baylor’s website has him listed at 6-foot-0, 193 pounds, and Johnson should have two years of eligibility remaining past this season. After working at the STAR position this spring, Johnson moved to cornerback and is slated to start this fall at corner alongside Mark Milton.
Last season, Johnson played in eight games and started the final game of the season against Ole Miss. Snaxx began the season appearing in the first two contests before missing the following six games due to injury. He returned against TCU and finished the season with four total tackles and half of a sack, which came in the thrilling victory over Texas Tech.
At Lancaster High School, Johnson recorded two interceptions and seven pass breakups while leading his team to an 11-3 record as a senior. He was the top-ranked cornerback in the DFW Area and was voted First Team All-Area by the Dallas Morning News. Johnson was the No. 41 player in Texas, the No. 21 corner nationally, and a four-star prospect, according to 247. He picked Baylor over 24 different schools, including Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M. Johnson was a huge recruiting win for Coach Aranda and the Bears in the class of 2020. After arriving on campus, Johnson redshirted the shortened 2020 season.
