Christian Morgan has started 21 games in his Baylor career.

Christian Morgan is a fifth-year senior defensive back from Houston, Texas. This is Morgan’s final season in Waco, and Baylor’s website has him listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds. After switching positions and enduring an injury throughout the spring, Morgan has returned to boundary safety and is slated to start there this fall, the same position he played last season. He will bring experience and consistency to an inexperienced defensive backfield. While at BU, he is majoring in health, kinesiology, and leisure studies and has made the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll four times.

As a senior in 2021, Morgan played in twelve games and started ten of them. He earned All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive season and finished eighth on the team in tackles (29). He also recorded six pass breakups and two tackles for loss throughout the year. Morgan recorded a pass breakup in three consecutive games (Texas, TCU, and Oklahoma) towards the end of the season.

Morgan’s best statistical year as a Bear came in the shortened 2020 season, starting in eight games and finishing fourth on the team in tackles (54) and tying for first in interceptions (3). Morgan set his career-high with twelve tackles against Texas Tech and had a stretch towards the end of the year where he caught interceptions in three consecutive games: Kansas State, Oklahoma, & Oklahoma State. He was honored with All-Big 12 Honorable Mention at the end of the year.

Morgan recorded three interceptions in the Covid shortened 2020 season.

As a true freshman in 2018, Morgan appeared in all 13 games and started three contests, totaling 18 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, and one forced fumble on the season. In his first career start, Morgan picked up his first collegiate interception in the victory over Kansas State. The following year in 2019, the Houston native appeared in 12 of the 14 games and finished the season with 12 total tackles (8 solo) and one pass breakup.

At Porter High School, Morgan was a hard-hitting safety prospect who recorded 77 tackles and four interceptions as a senior. As a recruit, Morgan was rated three stars and was the No. 90 player in Texas and the No. 49 safety nationally. He was a member of Dave Campbell’s Texas Top 300, participated in The Opening, and recorded the top Nike SPARQ score in the country (144.0). Morgan chose Baylor over Arizona State, Northwestern, and Texas Tech in the class of 2018.
