*Per Baylor Press Release
WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer’s Hallie Augustyn has been named Big 12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. This marks the first weekly award for the Bears this season.
Augustyn’s honor is just the third Freshman of the Week award in Baylor soccer history, after Olivia Mack and Mackenzie Anthony both received the honor in 2020.
This week, the freshman scored her first career goal in a 3-0 win over Houston and helped shut out back-to-back opponents as a member of the Baylor backline. In the Bears’ 0-0 tie against Iowa, Augustyn helped limit the Hawkeyes to just two shots on goal.
As a true freshman, she has started in each of Baylor’s first six games, playing 55 minutes against Houston and the full 90 minutes against Iowa this week.
Augustyn joins Emma Hawkins, Oklahoma (Offensive), Jordan Brewster, West Virginia (Defensive) and Kayza Massey, West Virginia (Goalkeeper) as this week’s award winners.
