Bears tally the fourth and fifth conference honors of the 2025 campaign

Baylor Soccer scored early against the visiting No. 17 Mississippi Bulldogs and put the game away late to earn the first ranked win for the program since Michelle Lenard became head coach heading into the 2022 season.

Hallie Augustyn scored the opener for the Bears just eight minutes into the game, heading home a Tyler Isgrig corner with ease. The insurance came just before halftime as Alysiah Lockette cleaned up the scraps of a corner that started very similarly to the first goal in the 43rd minute.

Baylor Soccer opened its 2025 season with a 1-1 draw against former Big 12 rival Texas A&M. A 4th-minute goal for the hosts, courtesy of a defensive miscue, became the obstacle that the Bears took 77 minutes to overcome in the form of a Lauren Omholt equalizer.

Overcoming a halftime deficit of 1-0, Tyler Isgrig, Hallie Augustyn and Ashley Merrill scored three in a row to take what appeared to be a commanding 3-1 lead. However, Baylor collapsed in the last seven minutes of the game allowing the Cougars to rescue the draw.

Defense dominated the night and the Bears were unfortunate to concede the lone goal.

The Bears built a 2-0 lead in the first half with a pair of headed goals before a third header and a low shot found the back of the net for the Green and Gold in the second half.

Second-half goals from junior defender Hallie Augustyn and junior forward Tyler Isgrig were the difference-makers on the scoreboard, but solid performances from many others were pivotal in helping the Bears extend their winning streak to five games.

Baylor Soccer (4-1) earned its biggest win of the year and the biggest win of the Michelle Lenard era on Friday night beating former Big 12 foe Texas A&M 1-0 for a fourth win in a row. This also marks the Bears’ first win over the Aggies since 2000.

Baylor star midfielder Ashley Merrill opened her scoring ledger for the season with back-to-back goals late in the first half. The Bears scored three other times, one goal each from juniors Hannah and Hallie Augustyn plus an own goal from the Bonnies.

With three days until the season opener, Michelle Lenard is aiming to take Baylor Soccer to a place it has not been since 2018: The NCAA tournament.

Baylor Soccer used a late goal from defender Hallie Augustyn to earn its third straight win and get back to .500 in Big 12 play with a 2-1 victory over the UCF Knights.

Sophomore Hannah Augustyn, playing outside back today, scored the opener and winner for the green and goal in the seventh minute. Fellow defenders Hallie Augustyn, Ava Colberg and Blythe Obar all made last-ditch saves of KSU shots to preserve the Baylor lead as well.
