Baylor Softball Announces Finalized 2023 Schedule

WACO, Texas – Baylor softball released its full slate for the 2023 season, including 28 home games at Getterman Stadium, announced Tuesday afternoon by 23rd-year head coach Glenn Moore.

Putting together a strong schedule, the Bears will play at least 18 games against nine opponents from the 2021 NCAA softball tournament. 

All Baylor home games will be on Big 12 Now on ESPN+; however, network selections could come at a later date.

BU opens the 2023 season in Las Vegas at the UNLV Tournament Feb. 10-12. The Bears will play their first games against Southern Utah and Weber State on Friday, before taking on Southern Utah and UNLV Saturday and closing out the tournament with Arkansas on Sunday.

The Bears will then return home to host a series of three tournaments and a midweek contest.

Baylor will bring back the Getterman Classic for the first time since the 2020 season Feb. 17-19 and will host SFA, Longwood, Oklahoma and Army West Point.

Next up, BU will host the Baylor Invitational Feb. 24-26, which will feature games against Minnesota and Maryland on Friday and Texas A&M Commerce Saturday. The tournament will continue Saturday with two more seed games and will conclude on Sunday with the consolation and championship games.

Closing out the February slate, Baylor will face UTA on Feb. 28 at home. 

For the Bears’ last hosted tournament, BU will bring to town Texas A&M and Sam Houston State for the “Ode to Joy” Invitational March 4-5. The Bears will face each team twice, with back-to-back doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.

Baylor will travel next travel to California for its last tournament of the season, the Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton Tournament. The Bears will play Boston and Long Beach State on Thursday, March 9, before heading to Fullerton, Calif., to take on South Dakota and Cal State Fullerton Friday, March 10 and Weber State Saturday, March 11.

Returning to Texas, BU will head down the road to San Marcos to face Texas State for a midweek matchup on March 15.

The Bears will face the Houston Cougars in a three-game home series March 17-19, followed by a drive up I-35 for a March 22 tilt at UT Arlington, in their final conference tune-ups.

BU opens the conference slate against Oklahoma State in Stillwater March 24-26.

Finishing up the March contests, Baylor will host UTSA in a quick midweek tilt March 29, before the Bears host Kansas March 31-April 2.

With a four-game break in conference play, the Bears will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for bouts with Tennessee and Mercer April 6-7. Baylor will return home to host Louisiana April 11 and then travel to Abilene Christian on April 13.

Continuing west from Abilene, the Bears will get back on track in conference play with a series against the Red Raiders in Lubbock April 14-16.

In a four-game home-stand, the Bears will host reigning national champion Oklahoma April 21-23 before a midweek battle against Texas State April 26.

Closing out the April slate, BU will travel to Ames to take on Iowa State April 28-30.

Baylor closes out the regular season with Texas May 5-7, playing the first game in Austin and heading home for the last two games of the series.

The Big 12 tournament is set for May 10-13 in Oklahoma City. NCAA Regionals begin a week later, followed by the NCAA Super Regionals. The Women's College World Series will be June 1-9 in Oklahoma City.
