Baylor (2-0) defeats Norfolk State (2-1) 87-70 for the second time in four games behind 61 points from Keyonte George, Jalen Bridges and Adam Flagler.
Positives
- The hardest part of basketball is putting the ball in the basket when you need to. Keyonte George (23 points on 13 shots) and Adam Flagler (18 points on 11 shots) have demonstrated the ability to do that consistently. LJ Cryer can as well, he just had a rough shooting night (2-12).
- Jalen Bridges (20 points on 7 shots) could be an upgrade at the forward position. Time will tell but I like what I see from him.
- Unselfish basketball, the ball doesn’t stick. Everyone is willing to share to get teammates better looks.
- Through two games we have shot 68 free throws. That’s a good number, I know we are making an effort to get to the foul line more.
- Great student turnout tonight (student allotment sold out).
Needs Work
- 15 turnovers... you would prefer that be under 10. Norfolk State did take multiple charges.
- A bit too reliant on the 3 point shot. Will have some nights where they aren’t falling, need to have more diversification offensively.
- Our bigs need to make free throws. Josh, Flo and Caleb were 6-15. Our guards/wings were 10-10 if you include Jalen Bridges at 8-8.
- Lack of competitive intensity at times. Some breakdowns defensively that led to easy buckets for Norfolk State.
