well, right....grimes has to make the calls his players can execute. so it's kind of both here.HuttoBear said:
No not Grimes ...that pass lay was a perfect call but execution was below par as usual.

Quotes of the Week
Senior Offensive Lineman Connor Galvin
"We have addressed what's at stake for both teams. We've addressed the situation and the opportunity we have ahead of us. We know what's at stake, it was addressed on Monday, but we're not making like a big deal about it. It's next opponent up," Galvin said on Wednesday.
Senior JACK Bryson Jackson
"Just recognizing how great of an opportunity it is to go through adversity and to show how we can overcome and come out on the better end," Jackson said. "Which is putting the work in this week and showing pretty much everybody what we're really about, what this team is really about."
Head Coach Dave Aranda
"I think it's been probably framed by expectations. I think there's been a lot of growth with the team. I think there's been improvements. I think there's been areas that the team has matured in, in spots that they didn't even know they needed maturing on.”
Analysis of the Week
SicEm365 Analyst Travis Roeder
I actually think Baylor matches up with TCU somewhat well on defense. TCU makes hay by landing deep shots and gashing with inside run game. Baylor has prevented big plays all year, so this game comes down to how well they can stop the run inside. If the answer is like West Virginia, this game is over. Otherwise, I expect that TCU will be able to score in this one but it won’t be a massive points parade.
Duggan still struggles with identifying pressure and their OL struggles in pass protection. I think this game is one where Baylor uses a lot of different pressures to force indecision from Duggan and a few turnovers. If Baylor doesn’t get to at least two turnovers in this game, and probably three, they’ll have a hard time winning, just because with their “prevent big plays style,” without turnovers it is hard to get an offense like TCU’s off the field. They simply have to create negative plays.
If it’s the second quarter and TCU is consistently running the ball for 5-6 yards per carry, that’s where you start to question how Baylor will win this game, regardless of whether TCU is hitting deep shots or not. But if we get towards halftime and Baylor is limiting TCU’s run game, has a turnover or two, and is able to sit on top of Quentin Johnston, that’s the kind of defense Baylor needs to play to give Baylor’s offense a chance to win this game. Senior leaders like Dillon Doyle, Cole Maxwell, and Apu Ika are going to be very key in this game. Baylor must limit TCU’s base down run game. And that mostly comes down to play sound with toughness play after play.
