#12 Baylor (10-2) gets to win number 10 after beating Nicholls State (6-7). The Bears were led by 21 points from Keyonte George, 20 from Adam Flagler, 17 from Langston Love and a double double from Joshua Ojianwuna (11 points, 11 rebounds).
Good
- Great defense the last 16 minutes only allowing 15 points after Nicholls State pulled within 6 points early in the second half. The Bears outscored Nicholls 39-15 to close out the game.
- There has been an emphasis to be better on the glass. Tonight the Bears outrebounded Nicholls State by 11 (45-34).
- 3 point efficiency on offense and defense. The Bears shot 46% on offense (11-24). And they only allowed 11% from Nicholls (2-18).
- Loved the number of charges Baylor took. Bonner’s defense continues to impress but Bridges and Flagler deserve lots of praise as well.
- What a lift our bench gave us tonight. Langston Love (17 points) and Joshua Ojianwuna (11 points and 11 rebounds) had great games.
- Flo sets amazing screens and continues to help us make winning plays. The same can be said for Dale Bonner with his defense and facilitating.
Needs Work
- Too many layups at the rim for Nicholls State, we will get crushed against some teams in Big12 play if we allow things to be so comfortable around the rim.
- Turnovers... way too sloppy with the ball. You would love to see that number start behing 12 or less.
- Getting everyone playing together in games. LJ Cryer missed tonight’s game with concussion protocol.
