Baylor WBB Named USBWA National Team of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS – The Baylor women’s basketball team was recognized as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Team of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Bears are being recognized for their impressive week on the road. For the first time in program history, Baylor won consecutive contests against top-25 opponents in true road games during the regular season, besting Oklahoma by 11 and Kansas by 13.
Baylor held the Sooners, who sat atop the Big 12 in scoring, to 18 points below their season average in the Bears' second top-25 win of the season. The Bears went to Kansas and continued their win streak against the Jayhawks, picking up their 18th-straight, to start conference play with an untouched 3-0 record for the third time in five years.
Baylor returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Oklahoma State inside the Ferrell Center at 7 p.m.
