Baylor Softball’s Wilson Named Preseason All-Big 12
IRVING, Texas – Baylor Softball’s McKenzie Wilson was named to the 2023 Preseason All-Big 12 softball team, announced Thursday by the conference office.
Wilson, a junior, received All-Big 12 First Team honors at the end of last season after hitting in the leadoff spot in 33 games and setting a Baylor single-season record with a .530 on base percentage. She led the Big 12 last season in triples (5) and stolen bases (26), while posting a .424 batting average on the season.
In her first season back from injury, Wilson also led the Bears in hits (70), runs (53) and runs batted in (29), while helping the team to a postseason NISC Championship, where she picked up All-Tournament team honors. She was also named to the NFCA All-Region second team at the conclusion of last season.
This marks Wilson’s first preseason honor of her career.
The Bears will open the 2023 season on Feb. 10 in Las Vegas, Nev., at the UNLV Invitational.
