Some Morning After Thoughts on the OU game
Positives
- Jalen Bridges was obviously a hero with his three point daggers late in the game, but he also played terrific defense, grabbed 8 rebounds and zero turnovers. He has been tremendous in conference play. Let’s examine the stats in conference.
- In a game where our guards struggled offensively most of the night, our frontcourt stepped up especially on the glass. 29 rebounds from Thamba (10), Bridges (8), Lohner (7) and Ojianwuna (4) including 13 on the offensive glass to extend possessions.
- 6-6 from Ojianwuna on the free throw line was big time. At least one of those was a front end of a one and one.
- Despite LJ Cryer’s struggles from a shooting perspective (2-11), he made good decisions and played strong defense. LJ and Adam play basketball the right way and that will pay dividends for Baylor.
- Adam Flagler, best point guard in the Big12.
Concerns
- Competitive grit. Still not understanding the lack of urgency from Baylor in this game to start. I want to see more competitive fire but they definitely showed that down the stretch and also showed it on the glass.
