Baylor (23-10) puts up its best half defensively in a LONG time holding the UCSB Gauchos (27-8) to 20 second half points as the Bears cruise to a 74-56 victory. Next up is the winner of NC State and Creighton on Sunday March 19th.
Positives
- Tremendous bench play from Lohner (13 points, 5 rebounds), Tchamwa Tchatchoua (4 points, 9 rebounds) and Dale Bonner (6 points, 4 assists). All three played with great energy.
- Adam Flagler & LJ Cryer closed out the game. 57-51 at the 10 minute mark. Flagler and Cryer score 15 of the Bears 17 points down the stretch to salt the game away.
- We give Keyonte George grief for his defensive effort but his effort in the second half was terrific. He took a charge, he was flying around on closeouts, he grabbed defensive rebounds.
Concerns
- Can we put two defensive halves together going forward? That will be the key to us advancing from this point forward.
