BREAKING: Baylor lands 2018 defender Joseph Ogunbanjo
Three-star Alief (TX) Taylor High School defender Joseph Ogunbanjo (6-3, 215) gave his commitment to Baylor on Tuesday afternoon. The 18th commitment of the 2018 class, Ogunbanjo took an unofficial visit to Waco on Saturday for Baylor's big recruiting weekend.
Also holding offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Texas Tech and Utah among others, Ogunbanjo camped with the Bears in June where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds. Given his current size and athletic ability, Ogunbanjo is projected to play the RUSH end position in Baylor's new defensive scheme.

"With me, you'll get a guy with a high motor and someone who will play to the whistle," Ogunbanjo told SicEm365's Damon Sayles after receiving his offer. "I'm all about getting that sack and not stopping until the play is over. I really fire off the ball when I'm coming off the edge in the 3-4. In the 4-3, I don't mind having my hand in the dirt.
His relationship with the coaches was one of the specific reasons Ogunbanjo ultimately gave his commitment to the Bears.
"I really like the coaches there," he said. "As soon as I got the offer, I talked to Coach [Fran] Brown. It was a great experience talking with him. He broke it down and talked about how I can be a good defensive end or outside linebacker in their set."
