Booker visited Baylor at the end of March which was a very important visit for Booker as he got to see the team practice and get a feel for who Christian Robinson is as a coach.
“Talking to the coaches, being in the meetings, being on the sidelines, and talking ball played into it,” he said. “It was a great visit, I had a great time. The intensity and energy are all things I am looking for.”
Robinson offered Booker when he was still at Auburn and that relationship has translated during his time in Waco.
“If Christian Robinson didn’t go to Baylor then I don’t exactly know how my relationship with Baylor would be so that is just a key factor,” he said. “He being consistent and persistent, communication is key.”
The Texas District 11-6A first-team selection totaled 137 tackles, 9.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions and a forced fumble during his junior season. He helped lead DeSoto to a 14-2 record and the Class 6A-Division II state championship. Booker broke out as a sophomore when he posted 92 tackles over his first season as a full-time varsity starter.
He chose Baylor over offers from Arkansas, LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Michigan State, Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Colorado among others.
