Jaden Owens to Enter the Transfer Portal, Leave Baylor Women's Basketball
The revolving door that is the transfer portal continues to spin, and this time for Baylor it comes with an exit from their roster. Senior guard Jaden Owens has elected to enter the portal after playing two seasons in Waco.
Owens came to Baylor via the transfer portal from UCLA and will now search for a new roster to wrap up her collegiate career. Last season, the Plano, Texas native averaged 8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the Bears.
Baylor needed to find another scoring threat along the perimeter, as Owens unfortunately proved to be lacking in that department during her tenure with the Bears. The recent guard additions of Ohio transfer YaYa Felder and Kentucky transfer Jada Walker addressed those scoring concerns, but it also was the writing on the wall for Owens.
Felder reached double-figure scoring in all but three contests as a sophomore, turning in 20-plus points on 20 occasions. Of those outings, Felder eclipsed 30 points five times and turned in a 40-point performance at Central Michigan on Jan. 25. Walker reached double-figure scoring on 21 occasions, notching four 20-point performances.
At the moment heading into next season, Baylor’s guard rotation will feature two seniors and two juniors.
