Since leaving the SWC, SMU has been the kiss of death for conferences. Every time SMU joined a conference thinking it would be a move up for them, the conference moved down.

Being a private university in a sports world of sharks is difficult. However TCU seems to have been able to have leadership that made them stronger in former conferences when the SWC broke apart.

They have thrived in the Big 12.

Not sure why SMU didn't follow the same footprint. I wonder if SMU has the people backing the program that are necessary? Apparently TCU received good advice and backing and SMU has not.

No one is offering Oregon a spot to jump to. It has now been almost a year since USC and UCLA (it bears noting not USC and Oregon) were offered B10 spots.

USC absolutely pushed for UCLA. USC boosters hate, hate, hate Oregon with a passion absolutely unrivaled by that for any other school.

SMU benefits from P12 much more than the P12 benefits from it.

Add SMU and if any of CU, Zona, ASU, UW, Oregon leave it won't matter
