Prolific Prep Center Yves Missi Signs with Baylor Basketball's 2023 Class

Prolific Prep (CA) center/forward Yves Missi‍ has signed with Baylor Mens Basketball’s 2023 class which also means he will be reclassifying from the 2024 class and enrolling in Waco this summer.

He joins Link Academy (MO) guard Ja’Kobe Walter and Sunrise Christian (KS) guard Miro Little‍ as the signees in the 2023 class.

Missi will give the Baylor staff more options at the center position which was an area of weakness during the 2022-2023 season. He will be competing with Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua and Josh Ojianwuna for the starting role on next season’s team.

The 7-foot-0, 230-pound post player is tailor-made for Scott Drew’s system. Missi is a center with a chance to be a position-less player who can guard every position on defense. He has a 7-6 wingspan and a high skill level on both sides of the floor. He catches lobs, blocks shots and has a nice touch on his shot to go along with being a good ball handler and passer.

According to the 247 composite ranking, he is a five-star prospect and ranked No. 15 in the 2024 class. Rivals has him ranked the highest as he is currently No. 11 in the nation. His ranking will change as he is moved to the 2023 class but he should stay inside the top 25 prospects or so.

We're going to be really green next year, and I'm not talking about our uniforms.

It's hard to envision a team with four, maybe five first-year Division I players in its rotation competing at the top of the Big 12.

If Bridges comes back and JTT is like 90% of his old self will crack the top 5 in the league. If not it'll be a bumpy season. As it stands we have zero proven scorers returning

Wow, this is great news for Baylor fans! Damnn...Missi sounds like a versatile and talented player who can make an immediate impact on the team. I'm excited to see how he develops under Coach Drew and his staff. He has the potential to be a star in the Big 12 and beyond. Congratulations to him and his family on this decision. Sic 'em, Bears!
