Oklahoma & Texas Leaving the Big 12 Should Be Seen as a Huge Positive

I don't have any love for Oklahoma and Texas, and Mack may have discussed this in the interview, but in what ways is a long-term loss in revenue and TV viewership a good thing for Baylor specifically, especially in this NIL era?

I get that he is obligated to keep a brave face and he's not going to go on a radio interview and say that things aren't looking good, but ya. Several months back, there was a lot of talk on the premium board from the supposed 'insiders' about how the Pac 12s demise was imminent. That is starting to seem less and less likely

To each his/her own opinion and analysis. What else could he say? I agree with his statement, be it for true or for public perusal. HOWEVER, here is my take: The last two games we had with OU - we BEAT them. And I want more than almost anything to beat UT this year with the door of the Big 12 smacking them in the backside as they slink off to the SEC, where they will be routinely beaten.

True, and that's nice in the short term from a superficial standpoint. I would be surprised if Mack didn't know the forecasted loss in revenue over the life of a conference contract with the loss of Texas/OU. I suspect that it is at least 10 million a year conservatively. And don't forget, like every school, Baylor football is having to pay the bill for just about every other sport, and with title IX, you can only cut costs so much from those non-revenue sports. Having just added four additional schools to the conference, those overhead expenses are about to go up

Point being, it may have been stated in the interview, but I don't see the specific ways that this obvious loss in revenue helps us unless it was a "hey chin up guys, let's try to be positive and see the silver lining"

Losing 2 blue bloods in your conference that are two of the most well known brands in college football is good for the conference? That may be the dumbest attempt at spin I have heard.
