Baylor Men's Tennis Signs Oskar Brostrom Poulsen

May 25, 2023

WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s tennis head coach Michael Woodson announced Wednesday morning the signing of Oskar Brostrom Poulsen, a Middle Tennessee State University transfer from Helsingor, Denmark.

“We are really looking forward to the arrival of Oskar on campus this fall,” said Woodson. “He is a proven winner in collegiate tennis and brings an experience and excitement that will be infectious for our program. He is a great student with a strong work ethic on and off the court. Oskar has proven to be one of the top up-and-coming Danish players, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him as he chases his short- and long-term goals as a Baylor Bear.”

Brostrom Poulsen will join the Bears for his junior year with two standout seasons already in the books. He is a two-time member of the All-Conference USA First Team in doubles and found a spot on the second-team singles in 2023.

The Denmark native climbed the ITA rankings already, with career-high marks of No. 60 in singles and No. 23 in doubles.

In the classroom, Brostrom Poulsen was named a 2022 ITA Scholar-Athlete and received the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal his freshman season with his name on the Commissioner’s Academic List.

The junior is a two-time winner of the Conference USA Athlete of the Week. He secured the honor in 2023 after tabbing a pair of wins to help Middle Tennessee defeat No. 19 Northwestern for the first time in program history, and early in 2022 when he opened the season at 7-1.

Brostrom Poulsen will join the Bears in Waco for the 2023 fall season.
