WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s golf was well-represented on the 2022-23 All-Big 12 Team, as Rosie Belsham, Sera Hasegawa and Silje Ohma were named to the 10-person squad on Thursday.

Jay Goble has now had All-Big 12 representatives in nine of his 12 seasons with the Bears, with multiple selections in six of those years.

Belsham is coming off a career year, finishing second on the team with a stroke average of 71.71, which beat Gurleen Kaur’s previous single-season record of 71.97 set in 2020-21. The Whitley Bay, England, native won her career-first tournament at the Collegiate Invitational in February. The win was part of a stretch where she recorded three-straight top-5s en route to February Big 12 Golfer of the Month honors.

She now ranks second in program history in career stroke average (72.46), just .18 strokes behind Elodie Chapelet (72.28). The junior also ranks in the top-5 in career top-10 finishes (15) and sixth in career-top-5 finishes (7). Belsham also tied for the team lead in par-3 scoring average (3.09) while leading the team in par or better percentage (82.9%) and total pars (372).

Hasegawa earned Big 12 Golfer of the Month in October as part of a stellar first season in green and gold. The sophomore transfer from East Tennessee State captured her career-first win at the PING/ASU Invitational in March and set Baylor’s new single-season stroke average record by nearly a full shot (71.04). Additionally, she finished with a team-leading 18 rounds at par or better, while also leading the team in par-4 scoring average (4.03) and tying Belsham in par-3 scoring average (3.09). The native of Gifu, Japan, also played her first five postseason rounds at par or better, another new program record.

Ohma is the third Baylor freshman to earn All-Big 12 accolades and the first since Dylan Kim in 2015. The native of Bergen, Norway, burst onto the scene with the Bears, tying a school record with a final-round 65 in her career-first collegiate event, The Schooner Fall Classic, in September. The freshman backed up that performance by appearing in the lineup for all 12 events this season and setting the freshman record for single-season stroke average (71.90). She put her impressive distance on display throughout the season, leading the team in par-5 scoring average (4.70), below-par percentage (20.6%) and total eagles (8).
