Dillon Doyle, Christian Morgan Added to XFL Rosters
WACO, Texas -- Former Baylor defensive standouts Dillon Doyle and Christian Morgan were added to XFL rosters, it was announced on Tuesday.
The former Baylor defenders were added to XFL rosters as they expanded from 51 to 90 and their teams will hold their exclusive rights, similar to players who were drafted in the XFL Rookie Draft, which included former BU center Jacob Gall. The XFL will continue to beef up their rosters in the offseason via player showcases and an XFL Combine, in July.
Doyle signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons and Morgan inked with the Houston Roughnecks.
A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Doyle completed a decorated Baylor career in 2022 as a first-team Academic All-America selection and as the Big 12 Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A senior two-way player, Doyle had a 3.97 GPA while working on his master’s in business administration. On the field, he was a two-way player and the first Baylor or Big 12 player to ever earn first or second team all-league honors at an offensive and defensive position (fullback and linebacker). A 6-foot-3, 240-pounder, Doyle led the Bears with 90 tackles in 2022 and totaled 261 stops in his five-year career, which began with a pair of seasons at Iowa (2018-19).
Morgan, a product of Houston, played in 56 games for Baylor over his five-year career. He totaled 161 tackles, with 7.5 for a loss, defending 12 passes and hauling in seven interceptions. He had three picks in both 2022 and 2020 and finished his graduate senior season with 48 tackles, two for a loss and one sack.
