30 for 30: #19 Greg Roberts — NFL Potential
Defensive End, Greg Roberts (6-5, 250) | Nacogdoches (TX) High School
— With his size, Roberts is, along with Jamie Jacobs, exactly what the Baylor coaching staff has tried to recruit in their first two classes at the defensive line position. To match his size, Roberts is an extremely athletic end as well.
— Out of Nacogdoches in 2014, Roberts was listed in the 210-pound range, a big reason the son of former Oklahoma standout and the 1978 Outland Trophy winner was under recruited. Roberts was originally expected to greyshirt for Phil Bennett out of high school to help put on additional weight before arriving in Waco.
— As mentioned, Roberts athletic ability to go along with his size makes him an intriguing prospect as he enters the final two years of his playing career. It was reported that Roberts passes the 11-foot mark in the broad jump in offseason testing in 2016 and runs in the 4.7-second 40-yard dash range.
— While that athletic ability doesn't always translate to production on the field, Roberts also has a motor that shouldn't go unnoticed. If technique and strength have been gained, Roberts has a great opportunity to build off a sophomore season where he collected 27 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
