Ten Things Vs. Utah
Baylor lost unexpectedly in the first game of the year and #12 Utah is coming to town. Can the Bears fight back or even win the game? Here are at least ten things that stood out during the game
- What a difference a week makes with the tenacity on defense. Several freshmen are getting plenty of run in the secondary and defensive line and the pressure in the first quarter is a 180 from last week.
- Alvin Ebosele is getting his first start and looks the part at left tackle, giving Sawyer Robertson time in the pocket and opening holes for Richardson and Reese.
- Baylor leads for the first time this season because if you can’t trust Hankins, who can you trust?
- Despite the tenacity and physical play ramping up, the missed tackles continue to plague the defense
- Robertson is starting to get the offense and game speed down
- The heat appears to be getting to Utah later in the first half. Will that continue in the second half?
- Best half of football for Baylor this season
- Great to start the second half to get points, but feel there are 10+ left on the field at this time of the game
- That is a bad turnover on the misread or wrong route and a good play by Utah DB breaking off inside on the throw
- What a physical game on both sides of the ball! The fourth quarter is here after the 3rd quarter, taking less than 40 minutes of real time.
- All the true freshmen on defense continue to make plays with Trey Wilson, DJ Coleman, Caden Jenkins, and others
- And the defense is worn out from being on the field for what feels like 22 minutes of the second half with 2 minutes to go and now a tied game.
- Time to put up or fall for Baylor with a two-minute drill to get a score
- And what you can’t do, Sawyer Robertson does
- Baylor is 0-2
