The 6-foot-4, 265-pound prospect was offered in May and then took a Junior Day visit at the end of July which is when his interest in the program went to another level.
“I love Waco, I love the atmosphere, and I love the campus and the direction the football program is headed,” he said following the Junior Day event. “The coaches care about the kids, that’s a lot in itself.”
Eric Mateos has been his lead recruiter since even before he was offered but the two have continued to build on their strong relationship over the past few months and the past couple gameday visit Courtney has gone on this season.
The three-star offensive lineman was named the 2022 District 8-4A D-II All-District Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Courtney chose Baylor over offers from Houston, UTSA, and Louisiana Tech.
