How come I seem to be so much more impressed with these young men in their interviews than ever before.

WATCH: DL Ira Lewis discusses personal improvements in offseason
Baylor junior defensive linemen Ira Lewis discusses his biggest improvement through the offseason, what it's like working with Coach Elijah Robinson, why Brian Nance received a single-digit number, and more.
— All interior linemen are pushing the others to be better including Greg Roberts who has been moved inside to play a little bit on the interior and not just defensive end.
— Just working and buying into the system. That's what Coach Elijah Robinson tells me every day. Just got to buy into the system. Coach Matt Rhule tells me all the time to keep working on my first step and technique and I'll keep getting that much better.
— It's great having Brian Nance back. He works his butt off. It makes me want to work harder for him and it makes me want to give my all. He's giving his all so why shouldn't I or the team? He's that voice to get us going when we're not stepping up to the plate. It was an easy choice to give him the single digit.
— Got to have chemistry on the defensive line. We're supposed to be a family. We're all brothers out there. We're all going to continue to get better.
— The camp is just working hard. As that game gets closer and closer. We can't go backward now.
— I think I personally improved giving more effort. Fighting through being tired. Working on my pass rush. Coach E keeps preaching that to us. Got to be relentless. I just got to keep coming hard every day and if I do that, I will be successful.
— Coach E loves us and he tells us that every day. He works so hard every day teaching us the technique that we need to improve, showing us things we need to in the film room, it's just a great guy to have.
