Baylor Men's Tennis Reveals 2024 Schedule
WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s tennis will host 15 matches at the Hurd Tennis Center during the 2024 season, set to open on Jan. 13 with a doubleheader.
“We are really excited about what’s ahead this spring," head coach Michael Woodson said. "We have been able to, once again, put together one of the premier schedules in the country while also adding new opponents and opportunities for our student-athletes to face. The addition of UCF and BYU to our conference will do nothing but bolster what continues to be the strongest league in the nation. I am really looking forward to our loyal fans and the Baylor Family getting to see the 2024 version of Baylor men’s tennis in action soon.”
The Bears will open the season on Jan. 13 with a twin bill vs. Abilene Christian and Lamar.
Baylor then hits the road for a pair of weeks in Arizona, facing Arizona State on Jan. 18 and Arizona on Jan. 21. BU returns to Tucson, Ariz., for ITA Kickoff Weekend, facing off with Tulane on Jan. 26 and then playing Arizona or Miami (Fla.) the following Sunday.
The Bears will open a four-match homestand on Feb. 3, with a doubleheader vs. Jacksonville State and Nebraska. BU hosts Tulsa on Feb. 11 and USC on Feb. 12.
The ITA Indoor National Championships, in New York, will be contested Feb. 16-19. The tournament will play out between the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the home of the US Open, and Columbia University.
The Bears host SMU and UTRGV on Feb. 25 and Ohio State on Feb. 28, before venturing to Illinois on March 1.
A home tilt vs. VCU on March 7 and a split-site doubleheader on March 10, traveling to TCU at 1 p.m. and returning home to host Cleveland State at 6 p.m., will present a unique test.
March 13 will feature Omaha, before the Bears travel to Wake Forest on March 16.
Conference play begins on March 22 with three-straight matches at the Hurd Tennis Center, including TCU (March 22), UCF (March 24) and Texas Tech (March 28).
The Bears hit the road to face BYU in Provo, Utah, on March 30, the start of a rugged finish to the league slate.
BU is at Oklahoma (April 5), Oklahoma State (April 7) and Texas (April 13), before returning to Stillwater, Okla., to compete in the Big 12 Championships April 19-21.
Campus sites will host the NCAA first and second rounds and super regionals, in advance of the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, May 16-25.
