No. 21 Baylor Defeats Harvard 81-71 in First Ever Meeting
No. 21 Baylor defeated Harvard in the first matchup between the two programs. After a slow start, the Bears found their rhythm and managed to keep the Crimson at arm’s length.
Led by graduate guard Aijha Blackwell with 16 points, Baylor had five players score in double figures: Dre’una Edwards (14), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (13), Jada Walker (13) and Sarah Andrews (11).
The Crimson were led by junior guard Harmoni Turner, who put up 29 points and is the only player to have been on the court for all 40 minutes. Turner went 9-26 from the field and 8-10 from the free throw line. Harard’s Elena Rodriguez was the only player to put up a double-double today with 11 rebounds and 11 points.
Baylor had 24 points from turnovers tonight and 34 points in the paint. The Baylor bench produced 14 points tonight, with half of those coming from Bella Fontleroy.
The Bears improve to 3-0 and will host McNeese (1-4) on Friday in the Ferrell Center at 2:00 p.m..
