#13 Baylor (5-0) advances to the championship game of the NIT Pre-Season Tournament with  a 88-72 win over Oregon State (3-2).  The Bears were led by 24 points from Ja'Kobe Walter.  Yves Missi had his first double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Positives

  • Offense continues to rock along averaging 90 per game through the first 5 games.  Ja’Kobe Walter is putting up eye popping efficiency stats through 5 games with over a 150 offensive efficiency rating.
  • Great job on the defensive glass, grabbing 83% of defensive rebounding opportunities.
  • Love the 20 assists and only 7 turnovers.  RayJ Dennis with 6 assists and only one turnover.
  • Every one knows their role, the body language and competitive spirit is great.
  • Loved the aggressiveness from Jalen Bridges, we need that from him on offense.
  • First of many double doubles for Yves Missi (14 points; 14 rebounds)

Needs Work

  • Free throw shooting (Ja’Kobe was 6-6; everyone else was  9-19)
  • Gave up a bunch of points in the paint.  Need to be better defending the rim.
  • Make the simple play, sometimes Yves is guilty of trying to make a highlight play versus a simple, effective one
