Ten Things Against West Virginia

West Virginia traveled to Waco to face Baylor as the Bears season ends tonight. Here are the ten things that stood out during the game:

  1. Rush defense is still not setting the edge
  2. There are so many opportunities in the game missed by the defense
  3. RICHARD REESE!!!!!!
  4. RICHARD REEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!!!
  5. Backbreaker to give up the TD to end the half
  6. Coverage breakdowns haunt this defense, and that is on the coaches
  7. What a comeback to see the Bears fight
  8. Missed field goals are going to bite Baylor in the ass
  9. Wheel route hasn’t been covered all year.
  10. Goodnight, goodbye, time for a change.

Aranda doesn't care about BU players

Aranda doesn't care about Baylor

Aranda cannot evaluate talent

Reese is miles better than Pend and moderately better than Richardson

Grimes had fun being outdoors

If RJ has the arm to make a 60 yard desperation play he's got the arm to manage a whole drive

I had fun watching you play

Portal is P5 out and FCS in

This should have been an 8-9 win season with the talent on our roster and our schedule

Talent on the sideline >talent on the field

I'm just ****ing tired.

Never in my life been this ready to get a college football season over with.

The almost- win was really fun, until it wasn't. It sucks. Everything sucks. Life sucks.

And seeing how good Reese is doesn't help. It actually just made me think how different our record might be if he got the touches his abilities warranted. It's more of a negative as it exposes the deliberate waste of a year. No chance he will be in Waco next year.

I am a born Bear and have been involved for 75 years. I have seen all of the coaching staffs during these times back to the 50's. The current staff is at the bottom and has led us to the bottom. We have never looked less talented or less well coached than today. The level of administration leadership is as low as it has ever been. We are at the "deer in the headlights" level. We are exactly where our BOR has led us. My perspective is We are reaping what we sowed in the handling of Art Briles. We willfully signed against a brother. Until we move to proactively correct this we are stuck in a bad place. In light of the information which came out in the court testimony is very dark. The BOR planned to shift blame to protect themselves. This is a time for real scriptural leadership from Baylor. Until we imbrace it we will not rebuild from where we find ourselves. Time for grace and mercy through repentance.

This is in fact the crux of the matter, and a whole lot of us have known for a good while.
