WACO, Texas – The No. 10 Baylor women’s basketball team is traveling to San Antonio for the Hall of Fame Series game with Miami today at 4 p.m.

The game is available on the Big 12 Now on ESPN+ while live in-game updates will be provided via Twitter and live stats.

STARTING FIVE

Baylor is ranked No. 10 for the second-straight week in the AP Top-25 Poll. The Bears’ appearance in the top 10 last week marked the first time since week 18 of the 2021-22 season that BU found itself in the top-10.

The Bears are coming off their sixth game with a margin of victory of 20-plus points, their most recent a 99-37 win over Deleware State (Dec. 14) that moved BU to 8-0 on the season.

Aijha Blackwell led the Bears, recording her team-leading 36th double-double of her career with 14 points and 11 rebounds; Bella Fontleroy also posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

This will be just the third meeting with Miami. The two previous outings against Miami were also at neutral sites, most recently in 2015.

Baylor is starting the season 8-0, this is their best start since the 2018-19 season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT AND THE SERIES

Saturday’s meeting with Miami marks the third between the Bears and the Canes in program history and it will be the third time meeting on neutral ground. The series is split at one win apiece with the last going in favor of the Bears, 88-81, in 2015. Miami is 8-0 to begin the season and ranked No. 24 in the most recent AP Top-25 Poll. The Canes have a pair averaging double figures, led by Jasmyne Roberts at 12.1 points per contest.

HALL OF FAME SERIES INFORMATION

The Baylor vs. Miami game will be the first of three contests a part of the Hall of Fame Series in San Antonio this year and the only women’s basketball game at the event. The contest is slated for 4 p.m. and will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

This is how the men's game should have started, at least we're not looking at double disappointing starts. Hopefully they can finish.

Collen is shifting the lineup and rotation a bit. Regardless of the outcome, I like it in a game like this. Having Bartley and Fritz with some playing time in big games like this will pay off in March.

So excited about the potential of this team.

YaYa is the deal, and reminds me a lot of Moon.

This was a really big win. Surprised there is not more buzz going on about this one. I loved Jada's play. What a kick start this little warrior gave us. Can't wait to see her match up with Harmon. Loved how NC used Fritz and how much she contributed on defense. YaYa is a force of nature when she comes in. Just elevates the team and reenergizes us. Hope Blackwell is ok. She had her best game as a Bear against Delaware St.

Miami is a very good team. Good quickness and good overall height. Our 3 point defense was the best I have seen. We are so good at taking charges, Bella and Jada showed a lot of courage. Our two super sophs are so confident. Bella missed her first two 3s and it did not phase her at all. When Buggs makes one of her few mistakes she smiles and makes up for it with her next incredible play. This is great coaching in my opinion. This team continues to grow in execution and confidence. Such a pleasure to watch.

I thought it was a great win. And it does feel as though there is very little buzz about WBB being 9-0. People would rather gripe and moan than celebrate the positive. I think we have a great team. Unselfish. Hungry. And barring injury, I think they will go deep into the tournament because they will continue to improve.

I wish we would look at Denae as a shooting option more. A number of times she has been open on the perimeter but the ball has swung away from her to more guarded options. She has a rep as a big game scorer. Hope she sees more opportunity come her way when someone in front of her is not having a good shooting day.

I agree. It seems now a days the board gets more buzz talking about another program rather than our own. These ladies deserve praise. I'm nervous and excited to see us play texas. I am super impressed with Jada. Even though she hasn't been to the free throw line a ton, it is impressive that she is 100%. Going 13/13 is darn good to me.

I didn't get a chance to watch this game, but it is evident the team is starting to gel and the thought of how this can continue to grow throughout the season is an exciting thought. Very happy for CNC.

The followers of the leader of "another program" are laying low until December 30th. Depending on the outcome of that game, they will reemerge with an "I told you so" or pretend that they never doubted Collen.

Did baylor Leadership destroy fan support of wbb as well?

Yes! In year 3 Nicki has depth, her own recruits and she is showing what she can do. She has also recuited very well and knows the type of players she needs for her system.

I would hope the people who posted only very negative comments about Nicki and gave her no time to prove herself during her first 2 seasons are beginning to realize what a good coach she is and that we are very lucky to have her.

Great game by this team. I have supported CNC from the beginning and I like what she is doing. This team will be special, and I only expect us to get better and better.

Not sure why it's taking so long to post the press conference. Miami's was posted on Saturday.

It's been that way for the last several years especially around Christmas break.
It's a shame visiting opponents post game interviews are posted before home team Baylor does.

Maybe the Baylor people were busy getting schooled on how to have microphones for the press questions.
