It's not just dead because of our team; it's dead because of the transfer portal. High school commitments maybe have 10% chance of making an impact on the field for the team that signed them. Most will either transfer, flame out, not develop, or get hurt.

Not much to get excited about when Zippy is the head coach.

It's a pretty weak class on paper especially when you consider that Alex Foster isn't really a commit at this point.

Unless they perform a weight room absolute miracle in the next 9 months this is too little when you can no longer afford too little. Skill players solid. Lines lacking in numbers if not also talent. I do like the transfers.

Better than 9 Big12 teams if you llok at average star ranking. Keep the kids in the program and don't let them transfer at the rate that other Big12 programs have and we'll be fine.

Is it better than nine big 12 programs when you subtract Alex Foster?

Pretty sure that if we lose Foster we'd still be top half in average ranking.

it's the people that get emotional when you point out the deficiencies in our recruiting that get me. Idk. I suppose it's in some people's nature to search high and low to find positive in a bad situation. That's fine. I'm still shocked that our athletic Director that makes 1.3 million a year has gotten a pass from so many of our fans. He has still not sufficiently answered the question of why Dave is still our coach in 2024. If our goal is to win ~six games a year (enough to keep Dave's job), this type of class is perfectly acceptable. But it's the fact that our peers like Texas Tech, TCU, and now SMU are pulling away from us that causes me the most concern

I'm interested to know where you got the 6 win number. Have you been told that by anyone directly involved in communications between the coach and the administration? Or is that just an assumption to fit a scenario? What is your number of wins that would be needed to admit not firing Aranda and starting over with any coach that also can't provide guaranteed results was not the right thing to do?

I thought it might be time for CDA to go, but I have no knowledge of what is going on and don't pretend to do so. I am certainly not close to the situation and suspect most of us here aren't either. I was surprised that we have had so many players, good players that people here kept saying over and over again would be gone, but have come out to say they are staying. We can all have opinions, but I just can't justify being emphatic with any I have when I am so far removed from the locker room.

I don't need to be a fly on the wall of the locker room to know that aranda is a failure. That's a fact that doesn't require $13/month insider info.

I actually think it's possible that aranda win less than 6 and keep his job. Point is, standards are low. Case in point, Dave is still our coach after three terrible seasons out of four. I rest my case

When you don't lose much you can't recruit a ton of kids. Our team was young last year. Do you think giving these FR and SO a chance to build again with an extended Offseason is going to be worse? We are definitely winning more than 6 games next season. Then keep building in 2025.

Some of yall are still too emotional and not looking at the direction things are going now. Baylor has been on a roller coaster for a while since Rhule took the job. We do terrible when the team is young and then great when that group is older. We are at the Mid Point for the coming season so expect a 4th - 10th finish in the Big 12 next season. Then 2025 is our year.

We filled most of our needs already so i'm not worried about this specific recruiting year. Now if it continues next year we can worry about it.

How anyone could realistically claim, much less believe, Aranda's team is or will be "fine" is inexplicable. This class has no high school 'croots who can be expected to make a splash this year despite the poor play from existing guys last year and a half. In this class there seems to be on paper/film a QB, DL and LB who will step in a elevate play but that's about it. Maybe some of this clsss have been massively underrated but I wouldn't count on that. Aranda needs more portal infusion to OL and anywhere on D to make this next year hopeful. He's also utterly dependent upon Spavital's new scheme to help elevate play while developing the young OL.

It's so funny that little Mackie didn't let Aranda hold a press conference. Tells you everything you need to know about this recruiting class and state of the program

Being young to the point of using it as an excuse for losing is a major coaching failure in year 4. That's acceptable in years 1 and 2 but then it's his fault.

Signing two HS offensive lineman in a recruiting class is abysmal. That's the foundation of your offense, regardless of scheme.

This speaks volumes on so many levels. Every time Mack does these things and not letting Aranda stand on his on, it always appears to me that "Daddy is speaking for his little boy". I can't recall any HC ever in the past with any school being handled this way. Perception is so important to alums, donors, fans, athletes and their families.

I've never really understood sunshine pumpers. To me, facts need to dictate how I feel about a situation, both positive and negative. Also, sunshine pumpers tend to pay too much heed to one particular positive development while ignoring the fact that in general, the train is still off the tracks. Forest for the trees problem.
