Bears Bury Cougars 87-58
The No. 6 ranked Baylor Bears utilized five double-figure scorers to bury the Houston Cougars 87-58.
The Bears were led in scoring by Aijha Blackwell with 15 points, closely followed by Darianna Littlepage-Buggs and Sarah Andrews, each with 14 points. Dre’Una Edwards and Yaya Felder rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Felder’s 11th point marked 1,000 career points for the Ohio transfer.
The Cougars only had one scorer in double figures, Laila Blair with 17.
Off the boards, the Bears outrebounded the Cougars 42-28. Baylor was led in the rebounding effort by Blackwell with 10. With her 15 points and 10 rebounds, Blackwell was the only player to post a double-double in today’s contest.
Baylor’s ability to share the ball continued to shine in today’s contest, with the Bears logging 24 assists compared to the Cougars’ 11. Edwards led BU in assists today with seven, followed closely by Jada Walker with six.
