Positives

  • By far Baylor’s best offensive game on the road or neutral.  1.24 points per possession is great.  The shot selection, free throw shooting and care for the ball were all good.
  • Loved the overall games from Nunn (15 pts; 5 rebounds), Bridges (17 pts; 5 rebounds), Walter (22 points; 7 rebounds) and Love (10 pts; 3 assists).
  • RayJ Dennis with another great floor game (8 assists; 2 turnovers).
  • I thought it was a well played game by both teams, fun game to watch if you had no rooting interest.

Needs Work

  • Kendall and I discussed before the pod but RayJ’s week this week was more reminiscent of Lester Medford and not who I think RayJ is and what he has shown at times this year.  He faced two small backcourts and just didn’t look for opportunities to get in the paint and take advantage as much as you would like (9 points the last two games).
  • Rodney Terry’s “act like you expect to win” consistency.

  • Josh & Yves have to give us more than 3 rebounds in 40 minutes.  I thought they both did some good things.  There are some physical strength limitations in Big12 play that will hopefully get cleaned up in the NCAA Tourney where there is a tighter whistle.  We need these guys to continue to err on the side of aggression in the meantime.
  • Hated seeing Max Abmas get clean looks early in the game.
