There are many different schemes coordinators can choose to heavily feature within their offense. The more interesting question is why they choose a particular scheme. For instance, former Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes discussed how the Wide Zone allowed them to run “a few plays many ways,” get the defense flowing sideline to sideline and take shots downfield.
