Positives
- Yves Missi continues his ascension as one of the best big men in college basketball. The 6-11 freshman outplayed Hunter Dickinson. He finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. He was ready for the moment. He also hit 9-12 from the foul line.
- Miro Little was terrific in his 19 minutes. He only scored 3 points, but he played with confidence, moved the ball well, grabbed 6 rebounds, played solid defense and showed some hops on a dunk from a pass from Yves Missi.
- We got some great looks to send the game to OT from 3. These close games should pay dividends when it is win or go home in March.
- The defense was solid. Consider this, you turn the ball over 21 times which led to some easy opportunities for Kansas and yet you still hold the Jayhawks under 1 point per possession.
- Outrebounded the Jayhawks 42-25, loved the activity from Walter, Dennis and Lohner on the glass.
Negatives
- Looked really nervous early on, the turnovers were awful, 21 against a team that doesn’t pressure the ball much. We need to get mentally and physically stronger in that area.
- Josh Ojianwuna gave us a pretty rough 8 minutes with no stats other than 4 turnovers.
- Hated to not have Langston Love, that was a big loss to us but loved seeing Miro’s contributions.
