I did hear Nicki say on a coach's show that finding a post player in off season is priority. Not having true post has been cause of several losses. We just don't have the height to effectively defend teams with bigs.

Again who coaches and recruited every single player outside Sarah?
OK. It is easy to throw arrows. What would you do? You need to match your enthusiasm to throw arrows to telling us specifically names and actions to take.

We had the shots. We had missed bunnies. We had open shots from senior players (2's and 3's). But somehow that is the coach's fault for the misses. Have you ever coached? I have. You put them in position, which we were, but at some point players have to make plays. Sometimes they don't. Even the great Clark missed her first 11 3's yesterday. It happens.
hey, heres a novel idea, maybe she recruits the wrong players...shes recruited the "gang that can't shoot straight"
Thing is, in most of their recent games they have shot straight. Is there any player that you can guarantee will shoot straight? Even Clark missed her first 13 threes yesterday.

The program is still in a state of flux. An assessment of program status can be made after the tournament when it will be clear to what degree this team fell short of expectations or not. I hope the team does surprisingly well in the tournament. This team started the season with the potential of being one of the top teams in the Big 12. We gave up our season tickets last year, but I have not given up on this team or CNC and her staff. But to date it has been disappointing. Let's hope for a good tournament run and then we'll see where we are.

How about playing Letty more in the large wins. She needed more time.

Hope she can get another post.

I just looked at the Box Score and Sarah, Jana, and Yaya went 5 for 29. Yikes!

What large wins of late? Of our wins she did get in for some time, but most of them the game could still have been lost. We didn't need fouls from Leti, but she did look better the last few times out. She got the playing time that was affordable for her to use it as a learning experience. And putting her into garbage time minutes is only marginally helpful, if that.

I only wish we lived close enough to have season tickets.

Good point.

She did come in late in the game (last 1:10) and stopped Gusters on two straight plays. 1 of them was block.

Yaya and Walker can be like bulls in a china cabinet. Terrible decision making at times.

Sooo… I haven't missed anything since the January game with KS State? Comfortably tucked away middle of the pack, early out Big12 Tourney, guaranteed early out in The Tournament. Since Women's BB isn't a profitable venue (in the red) BOR, BMD, Linda and Rhoades have established seasonal expectations. I think they have financially determined their plateau. If BU occasionally advances past the second round of The Tourney it'll be a banner year. All will be satisfied with average results based on the university's investment.

I can recall getting to a Men's game early and catch the waning moments of the Lady Bears game. Mainly watching Pam walk up and down. She was not bad to look at… the "game" was secondary. Sonja came followed by Kim and I didn't miss a game, in person or on the tube, until… well KS St this year. I've lost interest and it isn't looking hopeful.

I know they were expecting to get a foul called, but I don't think the ISU big moves enough to cause a foul most times. In other games we have played they got the foul call.....getting bailed out. After trying a couple of times, I think I would just quit trying to use that tactic. It is not necessarily a bad tactic, but if it isn't working you have to go to plan B. Sometimes Walker's shot is so unmakeable that the defense isn't even close enough to her to foul. That is probably an exaggeration, but not much.

You said back then you were not going to post anymore. I will give you credit. It doesn't matter the sport you are always dependable on being the negative Nancy regardless of the sport. Your throwing up more strawmen of no one wanting anything but average is getting old.

We didn't hand over the keys. The one who left took them with her.

Did you really expect to just go along without bumps after she left? Why? No one else who lost a coach of that caliber has been able to not have the same scenario.

3 years is absolutely enough time to see. 3 years we are no better. No better.

Holy crap

I would call it more like 2 because of the timing involved and who left after the first year, but whatever. Did you see how long it took Tennessee, Texas and ND to get back? Tennessee still hasn't. It took Texas three coaches, and the first one they hired that flopped was considered elite (Goestenkors). Notre Dame is only slightly better than us right now and they are on their 4th year after Muffett.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this. You seem to see the process as just a plug and play. I see it based on looking at history and just using some common sense that it is far more involved than that. Regardless there really isn't much option than to stick with the process. We are certainly better than last year. And the development of Buggs and Bella (and Jana) are noticeable on both ends of the court. But if you don't want to see that, there is no reason to discuss it further.

No. I said if they make Post Season maybe. Look it up. Free country, presently, so it's my discretion. Retaining Aranda pretty much lets one know the direction the Athletic Department mind set. I think the Admin & company has tapped out and are happy with things. You can go back to the 50's forward we've been bad to average. We caught lightning in a bottle with Briles, Mulkey and Drew. With the "new" Big Two Baylor's future just doesn't look real bright. Scott is all we have to cling to. One can only hope he'll finish his career here.

If they were satisfied with average I don't think they would have brought in the coaching talent in the offseason that they have brought in. I think it is more a case of trying to make things work in football and not start completely over rather than be satisfied with average.

edit....and if truth be known and you were around with Drew after a few years, you probably would be saying the same things about him.

Every sport...you get what you pay for. Where are our coaches on the pay ladder? Near or at the bottom I suspect

U pretty much think she's coy material,,, tell me how she's coached up andres after 3 yrs,,, what averages 3 assists 2 tovers and 11 pts and plays 30+ mins a game ,,,she'd be better off keeping her away from In and Out burgers,,her game is drive to the basket like a Mack truck and throw it up over 6'6 rim defenders … quit making excuses that aren't there ,,, love u bro but it's time to start a softball thread and put womens bb under "other sports"…

We were ip by 5 with three minutes left. The pressin defense hot us from behind by 10 to 5 ahead. But we missed our last 8 shots. Make 1or 2 and we win the game ! That is not a coaching issue, it is a shooting issue ! Coaches don't get to shoot, players do.
