Baylor women’s basketball (23-5, 13-2) remains tied atop the Big 12 and returns home for a crucial matchup against Iowa State (19-9, 10-5).

After a week with a miraculous comeback but two less than convincing performances overall, the Baylor Men’s Basketball team remained in the receiving votes section of both national polls, albeit with fewer points. Around the Big 12 three teams are up and two teams are down.

The Bears were No. 25 in the AP Poll and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll before dropping a road game at Arizona and a home game to rivals TCU on Tuesday and Sunday respectively.

The Bears were No. 25 in the Associated Press poll and No. 21 in the USA Today Coaches poll heading into their Saturday road tilt. Now Scott Drew’s squad are receiving votes in both polls and sitting at No. 29 and No. 26 respectively.

The pair fielded questions after the Bears' first Big 12 loss of the year.

No. 3 Iowa State (12-1; 2-0) clobbers No. 25 Baylor (9-4; 1-1) in Ames, Iowa. The weather in Ames was cold and so was the shooting from the Bears (19-64; 29.7%). Next up for Baylor is a home game against Cincinnati in Waco Tuesday January 7th at 7pm CST.

The Cyclones fought to hold a lead of eight-to-ten points through the first half before blowing things open to as large as a 25-point lead in the second frame.

No. 25 Baylor (9-3, 1-0) travels to take on No. 2 Iowa State (11-1, 1-0) on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. CST. The game will be televised on CBS.

Baylor Men’s Basketball dropped out of the AP poll on Monday for the first time since January 9th of 2023 when Scott Drew, Keynote George and company lost three straight games to open Big 12 play.

The Bears now sit at No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches poll, gaining a pair of spots in both thanks to UConn, Houston and North Carolina plummeting in the polls.

The Bears now sit No. 13 in the Associated Press poll and No. 15 in the USA Today Coaches poll down from No. 12 and No. 14 respectively.
