Houston is the best and most complete team in the Big 12. That's no guarantee of tournament success, but they're certainly capable of making another Final Four run.

If we get four favorable matchups we're capable of making that type of run as well. But we're also susceptible to being upset by the first efficient offensive team we face in the dance.

Every game we play against a capable offensive team will be a shootout. And shootouts, by their nature, can go either way.

I'm surprised King would make that statement. I also think Houston is at least as like than Baylor of going that far. Maybe more likely.

If memory serves, Houston is been pretty much dominant in every game I've seen them play except in Lawrence & the Iowa State games.

I'll take that bet. Hambergers at Diamonds....

King is biased but I get where he's coming from. Former players like to see talent on the floor and they extrapolate. You see players doing this all the time with player and team ratings. Even when it goes against actual results.

This would cause him to overestimate teams like Baylor and undervalue Houston and Iowa St. Even after you know the body of work, you will adjust and rework possibilities in your mind based on perceived talent.

I do think King is right we have a shot. I also agree with him on the downsides of Houston but you have to respect their results. UConn is the only team I'd be tempted to bet on with the right odds though.

After the awful first halves in the last few games, I have a hard time seeing us get to the round of 32.
