Baylor Volleyball Announces 2024 Match Schedule
WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball has finalized its 2024 match schedule, featuring 19 matches at home at the Ferrell Center.
The Bears will play a total of 11 non-conference matches, only one of them on the road, with an additional intrasquad Green vs. Gold match on Aug. 21 and an exhibition against Texas A&M on Aug. 24, both at home.
The first home matches for BU will be against Abilene Christian and Tulsa on Sept. 30 as part of the Baylor Classic, playing Campbell on Sunday, Sept. 1, and hosting neutral-site matches between the squads both days.
Baylor will make the trip to Houston for a match with Rice on Sept. 3, the lone road non-conference match.
The Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge against Wisconsin and Minnesota will take place in Waco on Sept. 6-7, neutral-site matches between the two teams against TCU also taking place on those days. The Bears will face SMU on Sept. 10 at home.
BU will also host LSU and Samford for the Baylor Invitational on Sept. 12-15. The Bears will face LSU on Thursday, the Tigers will play the Bulldogs on Friday, Saturday will be an off day and BU takes on Samford on Sunday.
To round out the non-conference slate, Baylor will host former Big 12 opponent Texas on Sept. 18 and Hawaii on Sept. 21 before diving into conference play.
The Big 12 schedule features 18 matches over 10 weeks for all institutions. Every team will play 10 teams just once and four teams twice. There are eight weeks of play with two matches and two weeks with just one match. No teams have four-straight home or away matches.
For the Big 12 schedule, the Bears will welcome new members Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado to Waco and will face Utah on the road. Overall, Baylor will host nine home conference contests. BU will travel to face Houston on the road for the first time on Oct. 23.
Before the fall slate gets underway, the Bears host three more home spring matches with UTSA on April 6, and TCU and SMU on April 27. Baylor will then travel on its foreign tour from June 1-12.
