Baseball
• Baseball completed a three-game series at No. 17 Oklahoma over the weekend in Norman, falling on Friday night before a double-header on Saturday.
• The Bears wrap up the season with a four-game week, starting on Tuesday with a non-conference midweek game vs. TCU in Fort Worth, before returning home to host UCF on Thursday-Friday-Saturday at Baylor Ballpark.
• Baylor is led offensively by rightfielder Enzo Apodaca, who has hit .327 with 11 doubles, three triples, six homers and 38 RBI. Centerfielder Ty Johnson has hit .323 with two homers and 19 RBI and Wesley Jordan leads the team with seven dingers, depite playing in just 37 games.
Men’s Golf
• Baylor is competing in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, Monday-Wednesday at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C.
• The Bears are competing as a team in the NCAA Postseason for the 25th time in the last 26 seasons.
• Johnny Keefer enters this week tied with Jimmy Walker for Baylor’s career stroke average record (71.55).
Women’s Golf
• Baylor is set for its fourth-straight NCAA Championship May 17-22 at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
• The Bears are one of nine teams to make four-straight NCAA Championship Appearances.
• BU is one of eight teams to qualify for six of the last seven NCAA Championships
Softball
• The Bears went 1-1 in the Big 12 Championships in Oklahoma City last week, posting a win over NCAA Tournament team UCF, before falling vs. No. 1 Texas.
• Baylor advanced to the NCAA Lafayette Regional and will face Ole Miss in the first round for the second-straight year. The Bears have made 16 NCAA Tournament trips and have appeared in 11 of the last 13 tournaments.
• The Bears posted a series win at Louisiana-Lafayette, the No. 13 national seed and champions of the Sun Belt, in February in non-conference play.
• Three Bears earned All-Big 12 Conference honors, including first-team selection Shaylon Govan, and Aliyah Binford and Emily Hott earned second-team honors.
Track & Field
• Baylor’s women finished tied for sixth and the men finished seventh in the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, hosted by the Bears over the weekend.
• The Bears battled significant rain delays in all three days of the event, which ran from Thursday-Saturday at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.
• Baylor had several event champions, including Women’s 4x100 (stadium record), Demar Francis (M 400m), Nathaniel Ezekiel (M 400m Hurdles — program record, meet record), Zaza Prosper Nnamdi (M Javelin — meet record), Alexis Brown (W long jump — program record, stadium record) and Molly Haywood (W pole vault).
