Managing Expectations for Caden Jenkins and Carl Williams

As Baylor’s defense was in the midst of a disastrous 2023 season, two true freshmen stood out: cornerback Caden Jenkins and corner and STAR Carl Williams. 

Neither was seen as a big-time recruit by the national services. Jenkins was rated as Baylor’s worst non-punter recruit in the 247 composite and Williams was middle of the pack. So for both to play so well as true freshmen was a big surprise.
