Taz Williams Boosts Baylor’s 2025 Recruiting Class Even Further
Four-star Red Oak wide receiver Taz Williams's commitment to Baylor on Saturday was a major recruiting win for head coach Dave Aranda and the Bears. Williams held one of the most impressive offer lists in the nation and chose Baylor over Texas A&M, Penn State, Michigan and SMU.
According to Rivals, Williams has a 5.9 rating and is the 20th-best player in Texas and 135th in the nation. Among Baylor recruits in the Aranda Era, he’s the third-highest-rated wide receiver behind Hal Presley (2021, 90) and Armani Winfield (2022, 90), per 247.
Right now, the Bears sit third in the 2025 conference recruiting rankings and are tied for first with TCU and UCF with four four-star commitments. Aranda and Baylor have even jumped to 35th in the 247 national rankings, with the chance to climb even higher in the coming weeks.
Baylor has been hot on the recruiting trail recently, landing South Oak Cliff EDGE Kamauryn Morgan, Lorena defensive lineman Jackson Blackwell and Shadow Creek wide receiver Jacorey Watson. Four-star running back Michael Turner is also set to make a decision in the coming weeks and has Baylor in his final six schools.
