And in college, where teams are constrained by only having 85 scholarships and limited player eligiblity, that’s doubly true. 

Every team would love for their starting units to be mostly redshirt seniors, and then to replace them with another wave of redshirt seniors the next year. 

But in college football that’s just not possible for a variety of reasons.
