BYU is vastly improved compared to 2023, and it’s largely done so due to a very good defense. 

Coming into the season, FEI projected that BYU would have the 54th-best defense nationally—a solid unit but nothing spectacular. 

After four weeks, they’ve catapulted up to 13th nationally. I don’t think they’re actually that good, but they’re at minimum a good defense. They’re a tough unit to crack.
