Baylor WBB’s Andrews Named to Naismith Trophy Watch List
ATLANTA – Baylor women’s basketball guard Sarah Andrews has been named to the 2024-25 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Watch List presented by AXIA Time, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club and Naismith Awards office on Monday morning.
The fifth-year guard landed on the preseason list for the second-straight year as one of 50 players to watch in women’s college basketball this season. From the Big 12, Andrews joins Audi Crooks (Iowa State), Gianna Kneepkens (Utah), Ayoka Lee (K-State), S’Mya Nichols (Kansas), JJ Quinerly (West Virginia), Emily Ryan (Iowa State), Serena Sundell (K-State) and Hailey Van Lith (TCU).
A three-time All-Big 12 selection and 2023 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, Andrews returns to Waco for her fifth season in the green and gold after a senior-year campaign where she averaged 11.4 points per game with starts in all 34 of the Bears’ contests. She paced the team in threes (75) and assists (132) en route to 22 double-digit scoring efforts.
Making a dent in the Baylor record book, Andrews has attempted the most 3-point field goals in program history and is only 20 away from outright holding the program record of threes made. Her five triples against USC in the Sweet 16 ties the second-most in program history in the Big Dance.
Andrews was also named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team by the league coaches.
An updated list will be released mid-season by the Naismith office, and the top 10 will be announced in time for the NCAA Tournament.
