Soccer

• BU went 0-1-1 last week, tying BYU, 3-3, and falling against Utah, 2-0.

• In the Bears’ tie against BYU, three different Bears recorded a goal.

• Baylor’s RPI is currently sitting at No. 47 as the Bears face Iowa State in Ames this week in its last match of the regular season.

Volleyball

• Had a dominant sweep of Cincinnati on Thursday, 3-0, with a stellar performance from Allie Sczech (11k, 5blk).

• Elise McGhee had 13 kills in the win, earning her 900th career kill against the Bearcats.

• Headed to Houston for a Wednesday match (7pm CT) before hosting No. 18 TCU on Friday. The TCU match will be at 5pm CT at the Ferrell Center.

• Lauren Briseño is 36 digs away from joining BU’s top-10 career digs list with 1217. She is also just five aces away from joining the top-5 career rally scoring service aces list with 81.

Women’s Golf

• Women’s golf finished third at the White Sands Invitational.

• BaiMai Seema finished third, notching her career-best finish, joining Sera Hasegawa (t-4th) and Silje Ohma (t-9th) who also finished in the top-10.

• The Bears were one of two teams to have three players finish in the top-10.

• Baylor will finish the fall Oct. 28-29 at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Men’s Tennis

• Hosted 110 athletes across the state of Texas for the ITA Texas Regional

• Zsombor Velcz made it to the semifinals in the main draw before falling to Texas in singles

• Doubles pair Luc Koenig/Imran Daniel Hazli finished as runner ups in the main draw, going 4-1 on the week

• Oskar Brostrom Poulsen fell in the first round of singles but went on a four-match win streak in the consolation bracket to win out

• Marko Miladinovic & Devin Badenhorst made it to the quarterfinals of the main draw before falling out

Cross Country

• Wrapped regular season at Arturo Barrios Invite in College Station

• Baylor women earned 18th place out of the stacked 41-team field in the 6k

• On the men’s side, Baylor finished 29th out of 38 teams in the 8k competition

• 13 Bears left the Watts Cross Country Course with new PB times in their respective races

• Ruth Kimeli continued to pace the women, earning her third straight top-15 finish at 11th with a PB time of 19:37.8 in the 6k

• Bears now prepare to host Big 12 Championships on Friday, Nov. 1 at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course

Equestrian

• The Bears had a week off from competition this past week.

• BU will face No. 4 Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Friday to continue conference play, rides starting at 12pm.

• Baylor had a Flat sweep against TCU in their first meet.

Football

• Routed Texas Tech 59-35 in Lubbock behind Sawyer Robertson’s career-high five passing touchdowns.

• Baylor’s 59 points were the most in a Big 12 game in the Dave Aranda era and most since scoring 61 at Kansas on Nov. 30, 2019.

• The Bears’ 59 points were the most by an FBS program in Week Eight and tied for the most in a conference game by a Power Four team this season.

• Robertson became first Bear in nine seasons to throw five TD’s in a single game (Seth Russell vs. WVU, Oct. 17, 2015).

• Bryson Washington rushed for a career-high 116 yards and two touchdowns.

• Robertson (Offensive) and Washington (Newcomer) picked up BU’s first weekly Big 12 awards of the 2024 season.

• Josh Cameron hauled in three receiving touchdowns on six receptions for 75 yards, becoming the first Bear with three scores since Denzel Mims vs. UTSA on Sept. 7, 2019

• The Bears will host Oklahoma State on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m. for Homecoming.
