Baylor men's Basketball Adds Yessoufou to its 2025 Signing Class

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's basketball signed highly touted forward Tounde Yessoufou to their 2025 signing class on Wednesday, head coach Scott Drew announced.

“Tounde has an elite motor and can affect the game on both ends of the court," Drew said. "He is a proven winner at St. Joseph and will represent Baylor University in the best light, both on and off the floor.”

With Baylor home to four-straight Big 12 preseason freshmen of the year and two-straight postseason freshmen of the year, Yessoufou looks to be the latest Drew prospect to bring an instant impact to Foster Pavilion. He chose the Bears over reported offers from Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona among others.

Rated as a five-star prospect by ESPN out of St. Joseph High School in California, he is the No. 2 player in the State of California and the fifth-best small forward in the 2025 class. Yessoufou helped the Knights reach the California Interscholastic Foundation playoffs last season with a 31-4 record.

Putting his clutch gene on display, Yessoufou hit a dramatic game-winning shot against Sierra Canyon to earn Saint Joseph a spot in the SoCal Open semifinals. The 6-foot-5 wing poured in 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the win, averaging 32.3 points per game during his junior season.

Yessouffou led St. Joseph to back-to-back appearances in the CIF State Championship, reaching the state finals in 2023 before falling to Harvard-Westlake. In his previous three seasons, he helped the Knights compile an 86-15 record, averaging at least 26 points per game in all three seasons.

Baylor men's basketball is off to a 2-1 start to the season and will return to the court on Sunday night at 7 p.m. when the Bears host the Tarleton State Texans. John Morris and King McClure will have the call on ESPN+, while Pat Nunley and David Kaye will handle the broadcast duties on the radio.

Hard to believe a recruiting coup like this doesn't generate more discussion. I guess we're just used to it lately. Crazy that we're getting guys like this year in and year out!

Yep, we're getting spoiled with this - but it's also to be expected when you're an established, relevant, national program which is where Drew has us. So glad he didn't take the Kentucky job,

Spoiled for sure but have to keep up. KU is finally back to elite recruiting after their scandal. Hou and BYU are starting to recruit at a higher level and AZ always recruits well. We've been the clear leader in recruiting in the big 12 for the last 5 years now and hasn't really got the program where it needs to be. Need to keep going.

We are all happy he rejected Kentucky, including the Drew family. I think Drew is too. He has established himself in Waco. It's his home.
