Ten Things: Baylor At Houston

Baylor travels to Houston and faces the Cougars with a chance to stay alive in the Big 12 Championship while Houston looks to keep bowl hopes alive. Here are at least ten things which stood out during the game

  1. Ummmm.... the receiver isn’t wearing blue...
  2. Great play by Devyn Bobby to erase the mistake by Robertson
  3. Baylor is more physical on both sides of the ball and dictating early
  4. Houston doesn’t have an answer for Trigg
  5. Robertson is playing his worst game against the coach who knows his weaknesses
  6. Great throws on this drive to calm the nerves and put Baylor back on top
  7. Treven Ma'ae‍ has improved so much this season and is playing with an edge
  8. Not sure what Houston is seeing, but the Cougars have run a screen three times where Baylor’s LB/Star/Edge bailed out into opposite side zone
  9. Several plays now Baylor’s defense isn’t ready for the snap and Houston has capitalized on those plays
  10. Baylor may lead the nation in broken hands/fingers/casts for the defense
  11. Baylor’s offense needs a long drive with the ball in their first possession of the 4th quarter as the Bears have allowed Houston to control the clock in the third quarter, leaving the Bears defense on the field for over 11 minutes
  12. The offense has decided to do jack squat in the second half, 2 possessions, 6 plays, negative yards
  13. Keaton Thomas completed the assignment and got the ball back. Offense needs to do something with it
  14. Offense went back to what worked and then the dumb penalties, but a great special teams play to stop the punt at the 4
  15. Snaxx with the casted hand INT to give Baylor’s offense a chance to put the game away
  16. If you can’t trust Hankins from 51 yards out, who can you trust?
  17. Good to still be in the Big 12 Championship hunt and sweep the Texas conference teams and hearing BU BU BU BU over the microphones

The odds of getting to a championship game is so far remote they should have bever mentioned it. They overplayed that fact to try to draw interest to the game. However this conference is medicore with allot of Mediocre teams but of course you have try to convince your audience it is the opposite. It was kind of insulting to the intelligence of the audience.of course anything can happen.

Right, the streak and quality of play are what get fans excited. They want to come out and see Baylor win and look good doing it. They want to see something that entertains them and shows promise to keep entertaining them for their financial and emotional investment.

Forget the artificial social media generated fan stuff. Just enjoy good football.

Play out the schedule and see what happens.
